For the first application, Rabbit MACE granular should be applied heavily and evenly, 18 inches away from flowerbeds, ornamentals, gardens, ground cover, and crops in danger of rabbit browsing. A 24-inch (2-foot) wide barrier should be applied around plant groups, and the product can also be sprinkled between plant groups. With regular application on a 7- to 10-day rotation, Rabbit MACE can save shrubs, flowers, trees, and vegetables by teaching rabbits to stay clear of landscaped and garden areas.

In areas where rabbit feeding or browsing is heavier and more intense, additional or more liberal applications may be required, with the barrier increased to 30 inches wide. Rabbit MACE should be applied in early spring to repel rabbits before they have a chance to browse, and reapplied after heavy rainfall. It should not be applied during periods of heavy wind.

For larger areas, Rabbit MACE Granular should be applied in a 24-inch wide protective strip/barrier around the protective zone, and then a 15-inch wide strip inside the protective zone every 15 feet.
